Our Waters...

shillinglee 4.jpg

Park Mill, Shillinglee

Owned by the Society, located on the Surrey/West Sussex border, the 30 acre lake enjoys a tranquil, stunning outlook from all 45 diverse swims .

Reed surrounded platforms, purpose built sheltered bank stands, natural swims in the woods or on the lake wall.

A comprehensive stock of (many specimen) Bream, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Perch, Carp and Pike make for diverse angling opportunities. A testing but delightful water that tempts members back again and again.

Access is via a padlocked gate and track adjacent to the Bicknell Pond over the causeway into main car park. A 10 to 15 minute walk is required to reach swims on the opposite side of the lake which tend to be under utilised compared with those close by parking areas.

A Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), emphasis is very much on conservation and adherence to the close season, with opportunities to spot rare plants, extensive bird, animal and insect life.

Carp and Pike must NOT be retained and are to be returned to the water immediately after capture and weighing. A carp night ticket system is in operation – regular Bailiff monitoring ensures compliance.

Bicknell Pond, Shillinglee

Separated from the main lake by a vehicle width causeway, parking is available at the main lake or on the entrance road adjacent to Bicknell pegs 9 and 10.

A 4 acre 40 peg water recently re-stocked with Tench, crucian carp and roach.

Easily accessible dedicated swims are available for disabled or infirm members.

A popular venue for those who do not wish to walk too far from the car park, or fancy a few profitable hours in the early morning or evening.
